prepare to dine
Tom Douglas’ Culinary Summer Camp starts tomorrow at the Palace Ballroom, and after a year of anticipation, I am more than ready.
Guided by Tom plus a supporting cast of amazing chefs, we’ll be hitting the Seattle food scene hard this week. And what a scene we live in. Blessed with the Pike Place Market (which I like to call “The Eye Of The Cornucopia”), the Tom Douglas restaurant empire (and what seems like countless others), and surrounded by some the of best food and wine growing regions in the country, Seattle is a natural foodie destination. It will be fantastic to learn directly from the folks who are driving and shaping the local foodie scene.
In parallel I am launching Seattle Foodies, a web community dedicated to eating well in the Pacific Northwest. It’s an idea I’ve been trying to find time to develop for a couple years: a place to focus on food for those who love food. Since the emphasis will be on both eating and preparing the best food you can, starting with Tom’s culinary camp seemed like a natural.
Please tell me what you think. And let the eating (and fun) begin!
