prepare to dine!

Plunges

Besides eating, Seattle Foodies love learning, challenges, and fun. If that sounds like you, one of our plunges might just be the ticket. We start with an ambitious menu, add a couple dozen diners, throw in a few local chefs as coaches and critics, and then take the plunge.

It’s all about advance planning and prep, awesome ingredients, amazing wine pairings (relying on the geniuses at Pike and Western), developing a deeper understanding of the foods we’re dealing with, and having fun. We share knowledge, techniques, kitchen tools, service ware, and split the costs.

Playing with knives.

No minimum skills required, just a good attitude and desire to learn. If you’re interested, you might want to check out a recent plunge. If you’re new to Seattle Foodies, please come to a First Friday Lunch or a dining out event so you can meet us and learn more about the next plunge.

Feb 21—Lovefest!

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, we’ll all be getting our hopes up for some love. But don’t let the pressure get to you, because no matter what happens on the 14th, you’re definitely gonna score at Lovefest!

May 2—Bunny Hop

Easter candy left you with a bad sugar buzz? We’ve got an outlet for that surplus energy, and without scampering across cold grass in damp sneakers. More fun than a plastic egg hunt, Bunny Hop will feature rabbits and eggs, plus a couple surprises.

Jun 27—Graze Anatomy

It’s summer solstice, a time when long days and pagan traditions rule. Naturally, Seattle Foodies love pagans for their outrageous food-centric festivals. So we’re on board. And what could be more pagan than offering a whole animal? This year, we’re going whole hog. Berkshire, to be precise.

Aug 15—Game Night

During the dog days of summer, Seattle Foodies will be planning some fun and game to get our minds off the heat. Seeing venison, wild boar, rattlesnake? On Game Night, it’s probably not a mirage.

Oct 24—Poultrygeist 2

Though Halloween is looming, there’s no need to be frightened. Seattle Foodies tricks and treats are all but guaranteed to ward off evil spirits. Bird-brained? Maybe. But rest assured this is one event that won’t taste like chicken. (Check out last year’s fun.)
